Welcome to Chosen Junior School.
Our Mission
Chosen With a Mission exists to promote the progress, successes and needs of the Chosen Junior School and Chosen With a Mission Evangelical Ministries in Matugga, Uganda.
What We've Achieved
In 2012, many joined Nancy Wilson in praying for the beginnings of this vision and call that God put on James Kintu's heart for the orphans in Matugga.
In 2014, the Johnsons sold a few items on eBay and made their first monetary contribution to Chosen Junior School.
Later in 2014, after mailing some basic art supplies to James, the Chosen students created paintings that were auctioned off in Ballwin, MO. Close to $600 was raised which built two new classrooms and bought roofing for existing classrooms.
In 2015, the Johnsons' new church home in Pleasant View, TN hosted a second art auction that raised $6000! James was able to buy a piece of land on which to build a new school. About 1/3 of the students at Chosen are orphans.
In 2016, a team of five from TN traveled to Matugga, Uganda to see firsthand the needs of the school.
In 2017, a team of nine from TN traveled back to Matugga for a groundbreaking ceremony on the new land, trusting God that soon we will begin to build!
In 2017, Chosen With a Mission non profit was formed.
In 2018, CWAM held their 1st Annual Dessert Banquet and Auction, attended by over 130 supporters who generously gave over $11,000!
A guard house and storage shed have been built on the mighty Chosen land and Chosen Junior School alumni spent their school break in September 2018 making and baking bricks!
In November of 2018, a team of 6 traveled to Uganda.
In 2019 we held our 2nd Annual Banquet, raised $13,000, and the first floor of the Mighty Chosen Junior School was built!
In 2020, shortly after their school year began, Chosen Junior School was indefinitely closed due to the Covid 19 virus.
In leu of a banquet in 2020, we took to the internet and held an online fundraiser. An overwhelming $23,000 was raised! This allowed for the completion of the ceiling of the first floor of the school, which will also serve as the floor of the next level to be built.
In January of 2022, the Chosen Junior School was able to open it’s doors once more to the students and teachers! And we are supporting 13 Chosen alumni who need a helping hand in affording a high school education.
